How to Respond to Dry Texts (Without Losing Your Mind)
You send something fun and get back a single k. Dry texts drain the life out of a chat. Sometimes the person is shy or busy, and sometimes they are just not into it. Here is how to tell, and what to do.
Give one real shot
Try a question that is genuinely easy and interesting to answer. Some people warm up slowly, and a good hook can turn a dry chat into a great one.
Do not carry the whole thing
If you are doing all the work while they toss out one-word replies, stop. A conversation only works when both people show up.
Change the energy, not your effort
Instead of trying harder, try lighter. A playful bump like okay, tough crowd, what would actually get you talking sometimes breaks the ice.
Skip guilt-free
If the dryness continues, it is fine to move on. Not every match is a match. With random chat there is always someone else who wants to talk.
